A week in the heart of Cilento: a 7-day itinerary between sea, history and flavours
Seven days in Cilento among beaches, villages, archaeology and the right tables: an itinerary designed for those who want to alternate relaxation, discovery and good food starting from Agriturismo San Giorgio.
Welcome to Agriturismo San Giorgio. We know that the secret to an unforgettable holiday is the right balance between discovery, relaxation and good food. That is why we created a special itinerary for you: 7 days to experience the authentic Cilento, from hillside paths to the crystal-clear waters of the coast.
Day 1: Welcome!
Arrive at the agriturismo in the afternoon. Enjoy the peace, the silence of nature and the rustling of the olive trees around us. After check-in and a refreshing swim in the pool, the evening can begin with the flavours of our land.
For dinner, we recommend two nearby favourites: a signature pizza at Arte Bianca or the seafood dishes of Street Stritt.
Day 2: Scoglio del Coniglio and the magic of Marinella
Today you head south, towards one of the most spectacular stretches of coast in Italy.
Destination: Lido La Marinella. It is the ideal spot for a day of clear waters and wild scenery. The sea here is transparent and emerald, full of tiny fish that will literally swim around you.
The adventure: hire a pedal boat or a canoe to circle the characteristic Scoglio del Coniglio and reach the Arco Naturale. From this angle, the panorama is truly special.
Sunset: around 19:00, move to Lido Mijeo for a cocktail and an aperitif on the terrace, facing one of the most beautiful sunsets on the coast.
Day 3: The charm of Acciaroli and the breeze of Pioppi
The third stop is the pearl of Cilento: Acciaroli.
For the sea, we suggest Lido Marley, equipped with every comfort, where you can enjoy excellent spaghetti with clams or a grilled fish platter.
At 19:00, treat yourselves to a scenic aperitif at Le Serre, while watching the sun sink into the water of Acciaroli.
On the way back, stop in Pioppi for a walk along the seafront. For dinner, you can choose the pizza at Al Vuttaro or the more refined cuisine of Suscettibile.
Day 4: The village of Agropoli and the myth of Paestum
This day brings together the Middle Ages and archaeology in a very natural way.
After a relaxed morning by the pool, wander through the lanes of Agropoli's old town and visit the castle overlooking the sea.
At dusk, move on to Paestum: golden light sets the Greek temples glowing and creates a romantic, suspended atmosphere that is hard to forget.
Dinner: choose the elegance of Porta Sirena for buffalo products or Bottega Cilentana for a board of local excellences, with vegetables preserved in oil, typical cheeses, artisan cured meats and a good glass of wine.
Day 5: Velia and a swim from the rocks
Today a journey back in time awaits you, in the homeland of the Eleatic philosophers.
Visit the archaeological site of Velia: walking among ancient olive trees and temples overlooking the sea, you will discover the famous Porta Rosa, the oldest round arch in Italy.
Relax: in the afternoon, enjoy a refreshing swim from the rocks at Ascea and then watch the sunset from one of the beach clubs on the shore.
Dinner: at the foot of the Tower of Velia, the restaurant La Porta Rosa awaits you.
Day 6: By boat among caves and total relaxation
Today we leave the mainland behind to discover Cilento from the sea.
Excursions: join a guided tour to admire Baia degli Infreschi, the beach of Buon Dormire and the spectacular Grotta Azzurra.
For the more adventurous: you can hire a dinghy, even without a boating licence, from Palinuro, Casal Velino or Scario to explore the coast on your own.
Back at the agriturismo, enjoy one last evening swim in our pool, surrounded by the sounds of nature.
Day 7: A gentle farewell
The last morning is dedicated to slowness. Enjoy a generous breakfast on the terrace and take time for a few last purchases: bring a little Cilento home with our extra virgin olive oil and the artisan jams from our farm.
