Paestum

Paestum, the Latin name of the ancient Greek city Poseidonia, founded in the seventh century BC offers an unparalleled spectacle: a very rich archaeological site

 and three of the best preserved Doric temples in the world.
Paestum is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site: the majesty of the Basilica, the temple dedicated to Hera twice as as big that of Olympia; the temple of Athena, Ceres for the Romans, with its six columns from the Ionic capital, a sign of the vital contacts of this colony; the Temple of Neptune, the most impressive (even larger than the Basilica) and the best preserved, built of limestone, once brightly painted, are signs of a past not to be forgotten.
